Grass-fed Beef, it’s good!

Following on from several headlines about red meat we thought it worthwhile to talk about what we know about the beef that we sell, that is locally sourced, from a low impact farm with a diet entirely grown on the farm consisting mainly of grass.

Following on from several headlines about red meat we thought it worthwhile to talk about what we know about the beef that we sell, that is locally sourced, from a low impact farm with a diet entirely grown on the farm consisting mainly of grass.

Grass-fed beef is very nutrient-dense. Either mother nature or the process of evolution has packaged together readily absorbed, fat-soluble vitamins, minerals and other key nutrients vital to fuel the brain, promote muscle health, boost immunity and provide the building blocks for healthy well-functioning bodies and minds; including: potassium, zinc, iron, magnesium, vitamin A, B, D, K2.

Beef is well known to be a great source of protein, that is effectively utilised due to a high density of amino acids that are essential for protein synthesis: Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Cysteine, Threonine, Tryptophan, Valine and Omega 3.

Grass-fed red meat and oily fish contain the only active form of Omega 3 (EPA and DHA) which is vital for cognitive function.

So there really are significant nutritional benefits to include grass-fed red meat within our diet, and being from Herefordshire where we are lucky enough to have some very lush pastures, some great farmers who really care about the environment and of course some of the worlds best cattle, it seems most logical that we stay healthy and continue to include this highly nutritious protein source within our diet.
