The Joy of Slow Cooked Meals
What could be better than a hearty beef and ale slow-cooked stew, on a chilly Autumn evening?

We’ve joined forces with our friends at Cooks Professional to bring you this perfect family dinner. A quick and easy-to-prep slow-cooked dinner guaranteed to please the whole family.
Method & Recipe
Place the diced onion, carrots and chuck steak into your slow cooker, before mixing in seasoning, water, brown ale and tomato puree. For the best beef flavour, set your slow cooker at a low temperature, we would suggest cooking for 6-8 hours. But, if you’re in a rush – this recipe will work on high for 4 hours!
When cooked, season to taste and enjoy!
Tips for perfectly tender slow-cooked beef:
- Choose cuts like chuck or brisket, season generously, and sear the meat for extra flavour.
- Add a little broth, wine, or tomato base to keep it moist, then cook on low heat.
- Let the beef rest before serving, and finish with fresh herbs.
As we prepare for the months ahead, why not stock up on some hearty family favourites?
Diced Chuck Steak
Whole muscles of Herefordshire chuck, seamed by our in-house trained butchers and then hand diced.
Diced Lamb
Trimmed to a high specification and hand-diced, our diced lamb is delicious in a multitude of dishes.
Pork Sausages
