With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, what better excuse do you need than a date night to indulge in a restaurant-quality steak dinner at home?

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, what better excuse do you need than a date night to indulge in a restaurant-quality steak dinner at home?

Treat your special someone with our dry-aged, grass-fed Hereford sirloin steak.

Sourced just 29 food miles away from our Ewyas Harold plant, our Hereford beef comes from Willersley Court Farm, where cattle thrive on the natural pastures of the UK countryside. The native breed is known for its ability to convert grass into rich, flavorful, and nutrient-dense beef, creating a steak that’s incredibly tender.

Follow our delicious recipe to make your date night unforgettable:

  1. Make sure you remove your steak from the fridge at least an hour before cooking. Open any packaging to bring steaks to room temperature.
  2. Apply oil and season generously with sea salt.
  3. Heat a pan to a high heat. To ensure the pan is properly up to temperature, heat for at least 5 minutes.
  4. Open some windows and get some ventilation going – this is a smoky process.
  5. Place into the pan and cook on each side for:Rare: 2 minutes
    Medium Rare: 3 minutes
    Medium: 4 minutes
    Well done: 5 minutes
*This can vary depending on the thickness of cut.
  6. Place a hearty knob of butter on top of the steak – this will melt into the pan. Baste a couple of times by angling the pan and spoon the butter onto the steak.
  7. Rest well on a warm plate for 5 minutes.
